I'm certain that by now you have figured out that my name is Dina, actually my full name is Konstantina. I was born in Mystras, in the prefecture of Laconia, Greece where I lived for the first 12 years of my life. In those early days people knew me by the name of Nella. After that I immigrated to the United States. I now reside in Whitewater, Wisconsin, 1.5 hours north of Chicago, with my two children Christ (Christos) and Ellen (Elleni ). For those of you that have never heard of the State of Wisconsin ( land of a thousands lakes, home of the Green Bay Packers and Harley Davidson ) it is located in the center of the United States in the north bordering Canada. Its a beautiful place to live. It does get a little cold in the winter and we sometimes do have a lot of snow but I cannot imagine living any place else. The photograph above was taken in March 2000. when I spent 3 wonderful weeks in Mystra. In the picture I'm standing in front o Pyrgos to Hroni where I was born. House is located on ancient Mystras. You can also visit my Byzantium page for more in depth information on the Byzantine Civilization. I want to tell you a little bit of what it was like growing up in such a historical place. When growing up I knew that Mystras was very special because many visitors came throughout the year. It was a very enlightening experience to meet people from all over the world. But I never realized just what an impact it would have in my life especially after moving to the United States. My thirst to know more about the history of the world became very vast. I had a wonderful history teacher in High School who fed my thirst. I went on to College where I earned a degree in World History with an emphasis in the Far East. A few years ago when searching on the Net for Valentines graphics I became inspired to make a home page and do my own graphics. Since then I have designed many backgrounds, background bordered edges and web page themes that you can download for free and use in your own home pages. Since then graphic design has become a profession sort to speak by accident. I am constantly adding new backgrounds pages plus other useful pages about web page design so bookmark these pages and visit them often. Also take a look at my Links Page while you're here.
